I am a very secluded person, and unlike many others, I’m not as close with the people around me, not even my family. However, relationships seem to be a very important part of life. For the most part, it’s about a sense of community. You know, for comfort and reliability, or just common interests. Native Americans, I would argue, have the strongest sense of community. Especially during times like the Dakota PipeLine incident—when the U.S. government was trying to add an oil pipeline under/through the Cannibal river, where the Lakota and Dakota people lived, and where their buried loved ones resided. They came together as a community, even if there was Tribal conflict, and protested to protect their water, land, and buried friends and family. I would love to be in such a passionate community like that.
